As an RN, we expect the following from you:

You're able to administer care.

  • Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.

  • Assures quality of care by adhering to standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals; follow hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.

You're able to support patients.

  • Promote a patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient about condition(s), medication(s), and self‐care skills.

  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.

  • Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

You're able to provide a safe environment.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.

  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‐control protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

  • Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; use equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

You're able to work as a part of a team.

  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information.

  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

You're able to maintain professional excellence.

  • Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and participate in professional societies.
