As an ESHYFT CNA, we expect the following from you:

You're able to administer care.

  • Identify patient care requirements that may include personal hygiene, such as providing bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.

  • Assist with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary, and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.

  • Provide adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz, and therapeutic baths.

  • Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.

  • Provide patients comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.

You're able to support patients.

  • Protect the organization's value and patients' confidence by keeping patient information confidential.

You're able to provide a safe environment.

  • Serve and protect the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and standards.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.

You're able to work as a part of a team.

  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information, including but not limited to taking and entering medical history information into computer systems.

  • Enhance the nursing department and reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

You're able to maintain professional excellence.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
