Congratulations on working your first shift with ESHYFT! 👏 We hope it is the first of many.

When the scheduled shift end time approaches, you will get notified on your mobile device that your shift is about to end.

You can either click on this notification or open the ESHYFT for Nurses App in order to clock out.

There are three basic scenarios for how you can clock out:

  1. If you’re outside of the facility, you’ll only be able to clock out at shift end time.

  2. If you’re inside the facility, you’ll be able to clock out in present time.

  3. If you're clocking out 30 minutes or more after shift end time, you’ll need to add a shift extension approval.

Outside of the facility

Regardless if you're clocking out at shift end time or after your shift's end time, if you are outside the facility, you will be prompted, in the app, to clock out at the shift's scheduled end time.

Inside the facility

If you're inside the facility, then you will be able to clock out in present time, regardless if you go over 29 minutes or not. If you clock out 30 minutes or more after the shift's end time, there are separate set of rules.

Clocking out 30 minutes or more after shift end time

When you’re at a facility and clocking out 30 minutes or more after the shift’s scheduled end time, there are two scenarios that can play out. You can:

  1. Choose to clock out at the current time or earlier.

  2. Choose to clock out at the shift end time.

If you forgot to clock out on time and choose to clock out at the shift end time, no further action is needed. However, if you choose to clock out at the current time or earlier, you will be required to enter the supervisor’s name and title of who approved your shift extension.
