Is holiday pay and overtime stacked?

ESHYFT supports holiday pay and overtime when a CNA, STNA, LNA, GNA, LPN, or RN works over 40 hours* on a designated holiday.

We calculate the holiday overtime, following blended overtime rules. If holiday and overtime overlap you can follow this calculation:

Overtime Premium rate: Blended rate on the addition of .5

Holiday Premium rate: Is .5 of the holiday base pay rate.

Add the two Premium rates together and then add to the base pay rate for that shift.

Designated holidays are:

New Years Day

  • 12/31/2025

    • Night Shift

  • 1/1/2026

    • Day Shift and Evening Shift

Memorial Day (2025)

  • 5/26/2025

    • Day Shift, Evening Shift, and Night Shift

4th of July

  • 7/4/2025

    • Day Shift, Evening Shift, and Night Shift

Labor Day (2025)

  • 9/1/2025

    • Day Shift, Evening Shift, and Night Shift

Thanksgiving (2025)

  • 11/27/2025

    • Day Shift, Evening Shift, and Night Shift

Christmas Day

  • 12/24/2025

    • Night Shift

  • 12/25/2025

    • Day Shift and Evening Shift

*Overtime is applied to the last confirmed shift in a pay period.
