ESHYFT supports holiday pay and overtime when a CNA, STNA, LNA, GNA, LPN, or RN works over 40 hours* on a designated holiday.

We calculate the holiday overtime, following blended overtime rules. If holiday and overtime overlap you can follow this calculation:

Overtime Premium rate: Blended rate on the addition of .5

Holiday Premium rate: Is .5 of the holiday base pay rate.

Add the two Premium rates together and then add to the base pay rate for that shift.

Designated holidays are:

  • New Years Day

Night shift (start 12/31 - end 01/01)

Day shift (start 1/1 - end 1/1)

Evening shift (start 1/1 - end 1/1)

  • Memorial Day (2023)

Day shift (start 05/29 - end 05/29)

Evening shift (start 05/29 - end 05/29)

Night shift (start 05/29 - end 05/30)

  • 4th of July

Day shift (start 7/4 - end 7/4)

Evening shift (start 7/4 - end 7/4)

Night shift (start 7/4 - end 7/5)

  • Labor Day (2023)

Day shift (start 9/4 - end 9/4)

Evening shift (start 9/4 - end 9/4)

Night shift (start 9/4 - end 9/5)

  • Thanksgiving (2023)

Day shift (start 11/23 - end 11/23)

Evening shift (start 11/23 - end 11/23)

Night shift (start 11/23 - end 11/24)

  • Christmas Day

Night shift (start 12/24 - end 12/25)

Day shift (start 12/25 - end 12/25)

Evening shift (start 12/25 - end 12/25)

*Overtime is applied to the last confirmed shift in a pay period.
