An Instant Book shift is a shift that you can get booked for instantly! When you book an Instant Book shift, you do not need to wait for a facility manager to confirm you, you will be instantly booked for it.
While Instant Book shift are instantly booked, this does not mean the shift is guaranteed - depending on a facility's need, they can still cancel you.
Regular shifts require two-step confirmation still exist and those still require facility managers to confirm nurses who apply to them.
Who can Instant Book?
Everyone, if you see an instant book shift, you can book it.
How can I find Instant Book shifts near me?
Instant Book shifts stand out in the ESHYFT app with a purple 'instant book' label. You can easily find them by clicking on filters on the right of the search bar, or by clicks on the InstaSHYFTs tile on the home screen.
In the List view
Go to the Shifts screen, in the ‘LIST’ tab, Instant Book shifts will have a purple Instant Book label.
In the Map view
Go to the Shifts screen, in the ‘MAP’ tab, facilities with available Instant Books will be marked with a purple lightning bolt on their location icon.
In the Calendar view
Go to the Shifts screen, in the 'CALENDAR' tab, when you click on a date, and time of day (Day, Evening, Night), Instant Book shifts will have a purple Instant Book label.
How can I book an Instant Book shift?
Swipe to book
In the Shifts screen, in the LIST tab, you can swipe left on an Instant Book shift to book it, or you can swipe on a regular shift to apply to it.

You can also click on the shift and see more information about it. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see an 'Book now’ button.
Remember! When you book an instant book shift, you can't withdraw out of it, you can only call out, which may impact your reliability score. You may be deactivated for repeated callouts.
I don’t see any Instant Book shifts on the app
If you don’t see any shifts, try adjusting your filter settings. You will also be able to filter Instant Book shifts into your search results.
If you still don’t see any results in your area, we recommend increasing your distance settings.
