Shift Commitments

Accepted Shift Commitments
Healthcare facilities use ESHYFT to connect with clinicians for specific dates and times. When you claim a shift, you are committing to the facility that you will provide services for the full shift period — ready to begin at the scheduled start time and staying through the scheduled end time.
Facilities plan resident care and staffing coverage around the shifts clinicians accept. Arriving late, leaving early, or not showing up leaves the facility short of the coverage it was counting on, and affects the residents who depend on that care.

Clocking in and out
You must clock in and clock out through the ESHYFT app for every shift. The app lets you clock in up to 5 minutes before your scheduled start time, so plan to be ready to begin providing services right at the start time.
This applies even if you and the facility agree to adjust your hours. If the facility is fine with you starting later, leaving earlier, or covering a partial shift, you still need to clock in and out through ESHYFT so your actual time is accurately recorded. Side arrangements that aren't reflected in the app can't be used to, verify or pay, for time worked.

If something comes up
If you can't provide services for all, or part of a, shift you've accepted, contact the facility as early as possible to see whether they can accommodate a change. Any change to your start time, end time, or hours, should be agreed with the facility before the shift begins.
If the facility can't accommodate a change, release or cancel the shift through ESHYFT as far in advance as possible, following ESHYFT's cancellation policy, so the facility has time to arrange replacement coverage.
If you are unable to reach the facility or come to an agreement on the change in schedule, you must call out of the shift from the app.

Why this matters
Honoring the shifts you accept keeps the ESHYFT marketplace dependable for facilities and for your fellow clinicians. Showing up on time, staying for your full shift, and communicating early when plans change, are part of remaining in good standing on the platform and staying eligible for future opportunities.
