Should I take a break during my shift?
Most facilities require you to take an unpaid meal break, but policies vary by facility. Always follow the facility’s break policy. You do not need to clock out of your shift when taking a break.
⚠️Skipping your break without authorization can lead to a Rejected Timecard, which can affect your Instant Pay. ⚠️
How are breaks handled on my timecard?
You no longer need to tell us about your break when you clock out. You can see the unpaid break and paid duration on a shift before you apply.
What if I worked through my break?
If you didn’t take a break, you can request payment for that time at your shift's hourly rate:
Tap Earnings in the bottom navigation.
Find the timecard and tap Review.
Under Why weren’t you able to take your break?, explain what happened and who authorized you to work through your break.
Tap Submit for review.
Is there a deadline to report that I didn't take my break?
You can report a missed break until 12:00 PM ET on the Tuesday following your shift.
Are breaks deducted from all shifts?
No. Breaks are not permitted or deducted from shifts that are 4 hours or less.
